Our team

Dr Renee Timmers is Professor in Psychology of Music and initiator of the Mapping Music for Wellbeing Sheffield Project. Holding a PhD and MA from universities in The Netherlands, she has done postdoctoral work in Europe and the US before settling in Sheffield for a lecturer position in Psychology of Music. Besides teaching, she continues to conduct interdisciplinary research, including as director of the Music, Mind Machine research centre.
Dr Nicola Pennill is a Post Doctoral Research Associate at the Mapping Music for Wellbeing Sheffield Project. She holds a PhD in Psychology of Music from the University of Sheffield, and an MSc in Performance Science from the Royal College of Music. She is a member of Music Mind Machine, Sheffield.
Dr Ioanna Filippidi is a Post-Doctoral Research Associate at the Mapping Music for Wellbeing Sheffield Project. She holds a PhD and MA in Psychology of Music from the University of Sheffield. She is a member of Music Mind Machine, Sheffield and of MANCS Music, Audiences, Neuroscience, Cognition, and Society research centre.
