Can numbers help tell stories?
Number and Percentages
Designed for year 5 and 6 pupils, this project explores the mathematics behind the R number in a playful, challenging and collaborative way.
The Maker{Futures} approach - three elements
The Maker{Futures} approach breaks down learning into three parts. Each of the three elements below enable pupils to gain the skills, knowledge and motivation to complete the tinker time activity.
EXPLORATION
How does a virus spread?
How can we use numbers to describe the world?
The R number of a virus tells us how many people an infected person will go on to infect - on average. Pupils will explore number patterns and the impact of the R number.
