Starting April 2025, all visitors who do not need a visa will require an electronic travel authorisation (ETA) to enter the UK. Applying for ETA is quick and easy, and most applicants get a decision within minutes. You can apply using the UK ETA app or online at GOV.UK. More details can be found here.
We encourage people to use sustainable transport options when possible.
Sheffield is located in South Yorkshire at the heart of the UK's major rail and road networks, meaning it's easy to get to and is around 1 hours’ drive from 3 international airports.
The nearest major airport is Manchester Airport with the most worldwide connections (over 200 destinations flying into Manchester from over 70 airlines). From Manchester, there is a two-train journey (Manchester Airport – Manchester Piccadilly – Sheffield) taking approximately 1hr 30 min.
Sheffield is just 2 hours from London (with fast direct links from London St Pancras International departing every 30 minutes ) and 3 hours 30 mins from Edinburgh.
Sheffield Railway Station is well connected to major UK cities. The Management School is a short tram, taxi or bus ride (or a combination) from the station.
Tram services from the station to the University include the blue and yellow routes towards Middlewood or Malin Bridge, getting off at University of Sheffield stop. There is then a walk of approximately 20 minutes to SUMS.
Several buses stop near SUMS, including routes 51, 52 and 120.
Limited on-street parking is available near the venue. We recommend using public transport or city-centre parking facilities (the closest is located on Durham Road).
