University Cycle Schemes

Sheffield loves bikes! Most of all we love their sustainability. Here are some ways the University of Sheffield supports students and staff who cycle.

Cycle Hut

Outside the Arts tower is Sheffield's own, completely free, cycle repair centre. Aside from parts, Sheffield offers free maintenance and bike upkeep advice for all students and staff. More than that, find 8 cycle repair kits over the UoS campus completely free of use. Locations contained in the following link:

They're also linked to biannual second hand bike sale with ReCycle. Information on both can be found on their Facebook page:

Cycle Hub

Cycle Hub is cheap, safe and dry bicycle storage offered to anyone with a UCard. Sign up simply by emailing Sheffield's Sustainable Travel Manager at d.hardwick@sheffield.ac.uk.

Aside from the Cycle Hub, Sheffield has cycle racks near almost every main University building or accommodation.

Uni-Cycle 'Love to Ride'

Love to Ride is a reward scheme for Sheffield's avid cyclists, offering rewards from free cargo bikes to trips to the Grand Canyon! Check it all out on their website:

Keep an eye out for next week's Ride to Work event!

Cycle schemes

The University of Sheffield offers help to promote access to cycling for staff. These include the ‘Pay Plus for Bikes’ and ‘Bikes for Business’ schemes, as well as a cycle mileage allowance for travel on University business. For more information email d.hardwick@sheffield.ac.uk.
