We are pleased to invite academics, artists, independent researchers and graduate students to submit proposals for a pivotal workshop scheduled for June 2024. With the migration of numerous Hong Kong scholars and artists, there is a pressing need to discuss and dissect the global dynamics of Hong Kong cultures and arts, and their salient impact on local and diasporic communities.
This workshop seeks to shed light on the intricate interplay of Hong Kong's rich cultural and artistic tapestry. We are particularly interested in explorations around the following potential themes within the fields of arts and humanities: Identity and Expression, Diasporic Identities, Transformation and Assimilation, Cultural Preservation, Cross-cultural Dialogues, Spaces of Exhibition and Media and Digital Transformations.
This workshop is an endeavour to curate a rich mosaic of perspectives and dialogues. Your contribution will be instrumental in deepening our collective understanding of the evolving contours of Hong Kong's arts, cultures, and languages in the global community.
Fees include attendance, refreshments and lunch on the days indicated and welcome reception on 13 June. The conference dinner is an optional extra at additional costs to participants (which will be organised and advertised in due course).
