301's ‘Making the most of feedback’

The 301: Academic Skills Centre have put together some great resources on how to make the most of your feedback.

What to expect

Check out our 'what to expect in feedback' guide to review what feedback is, and how to make the most of it.

Improving written work

These resources suggest ways you can respond to common feedback. They give tips on understanding constructive criticism and turning it into actions that will improve your academic performance and develop your wider skills.

Getting feedback on your referencing?

Some of our most frequent feedback addresses issues with referencing. Formatting citations and bibliographies in an ethical and professional way can take time and practice.

The Sheffield History Style Guide now has sections on referencing principles as well as formatting instructions.

One of the most common reasons students get referencing wrong is that they are not sure what material they're working with. You can take our quiz on identifying what kind of source you're citing.

And you can take another quiz to hone your ability to spot common citation errors.
