A phenotypical knowledge-based image classifier for identification of novel anti-metastasis drugs (2019)

The aim of this project is to established a computational large-scale, image-based method that can distinguish normal from metastasising cells based on their organisation of filamentous actin, vimentin and acetylated tubulin, for a future screen for small chemical compounds that can revert the phenotype of metastasing cells to normal.

George provided an overview of recent research activity, relevant to process monitoring, optimisation and control in Additive Manufacturing. Research highlights included reinforcement learning for layer-by-layer control of thermal behaviour in laser Powder-Bed Fusion, as well as unsupervised deep learning for high resolution thermal monitoring in Electron Beam Melting.
