My Digital Induction

My Digital Induction is a guide to the apps and software you will use at the University of Sheffield. Aimed at new and existing students, it covers logging into MUSE and Eduroam, an introduction to the Student Hub, using Blackboard and the Google apps, an introduction to assessment, and more. It is available by clicking on the image to the right, from the public website, and via the student My Services menu in MUSE.

Geography and Planning building 360 tour

We have created a virtual tour of the Geography and Planning building using 360 cameras and WondaVR software (available to all). You can explore some of the main areas of the building by clicking on the black signs and look around by clicking and dragging. Please get in touch with us if you have any suggestions for areas to add or if you would like to learn more about how to create 360 experiences like this (staff or students).

Summer of 360

Summer of 360 is a 2023 project for Geography and Urban Studies & Planning students to help build a library of 360 content.  By taking part you can build on your existing digital and employability skills, while helping create content that can be used in future teaching and marketing opportunities in your department. No prior knowledge or equipment is required as everything will be provided. As a reward for your involvement, we will give you a choice of an Amazon or Beanies £20 voucher when you contribute images or videos. Digital Accessibility Champions

Earlier this year, three members of our Professional Services Staff took part in the first faculty Digital Accessibility Champions course, aiming to raise awareness of Digital Accessibility concepts and issues. Your current departmental Digital Accessibility Champions are Megan Ayres (USP), Chloe Renwick (USP) and James Chapman (Geo & USP). If you want an informal chat about anything related to Digital Accessibility, feel free to get in touch with them and they will be able to point you in the right direction!
