Team Leader. I moved to the University of Sheffield in early 2015 from Cambridge to start an Advanced Vice-Chancellor's Fellowship. You can find me in office D16 (Hicks Building).
PDRA (2023–), and previously a PhD (2018–2023). Currently focusing on microscopy setups for energy transfer studies. My earlier work concerned spectroscopy of photosynthetic pigment-protein complexes. Google Scholar | ORCiD
PhD student starting in 2021. My work focuses on electronic strong coupling, where I'm exploring its impact on photophysical processes such as singlet fission and triplet fusion. I'm applying this knowledge to fabricate novel up-conversion devices.
PhD starting in 2023. My research focuses on the excited state dynamics of fluorescent proteins. Within this I am investigating the role of reverse intersystem crossing and testing novel AI designed proteins for lasing and polaritonic applications. Google scholar
I began my doctoral research in 2024 as part of the LUMOS group. This interdisciplinary project includes exploring photophysical mechanisms of novel near-infrared thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) materials and their integration into organic LEDs (OLEDs). Additionally, the project entails the optimisation of near infrared OLEDs with biomedical applications in mind.
PhD Student starting in 2024. My research focuses on developing energy efficient and long-lasting OLEDs for various applications, ranging from displays (RGB) to biomedical devices (NIR). In particular, my work involves OLED fabrication and testing using novel materials such as TADF materials and radical emitters. Part of the LUMOS group.
PhD Student starting in 2024. My research focuses on understanding and developing a model system using well-studied molecules like Rubrene. Additionally, I am involved in a separate project aimed at characterising and demonstrating operational qubits at room temperature.
PhD Student starting in 2025. My research focuses on using triplet fusion to improve the efficiency of solar cells. This project involves using a variety of characterisation techniques to explore how the energetics of different materials affect each of the steps in the upconversion mechanism.
Now a lecturer in Sheffield University's CMBE School. His current group focuses on understanding the interplay between the photophysics, device physics and materials properties of novel semiconducting materials with an emphasis on metal halide perovskites.
Moved on to become Research Assistant Professor at the SRM Institute of Science and Technology in Chennai, India. His current group focuses on ultrafast vibrational spectroscopy.
Now a MCSA postdoctoral research fellow in Belgium working on the spin chemistry of biradical/radicaloid materials.
Senior Optical Engineer at NKT photonics, Southampton.
Scientist at Prior Scientific, Cambridge.
R&D Specialist at Renewable Energy Systems (RES).
Postdoc in Wei Xiong's group in UCSD, California.
Professor at Cornell University, working on organic exciton polaritons, singlet fission and other things.
Currently a postdoc at the University of Leicester with Andrew Ellis.
Research Scientist at the Centre for Advanced Photovoltaics in Czech Technical University, Prague.
