There are hundreds of competitions and hackathons open to STEM students. Some are open to individuals, e.g. blogging about upcoming technologies, and others are team-based, where you may build a solution to an engineering problem. Prizes can be financial, e.g. bursary or a scholarship, or some offer internships and other types of work experience to the winners. Whether you win or not, taking part can be a great experience and a good addition to your CV.
