How to Provide Images
This national resource is a long-term project that will continue to develop and grow into the future.
Images can be uploaded quickly and securely via the following Google Forms link:
We would love you to contribute diverse images of normal and abnormal dental conditions to this repository to improve the diversity, equality and inclusivity within education for dental students across the UK.
Please find below a list of conditions we are particularly looking for:
Normal mucosa
Salivary gland swellings (e.g., tumours, sjogren’s syndrome, sialosis)
Dry mouth
Bony lesions (e.g., MRONJ, exostoses, Gardner’s syndrome, fibrous dysplasia, bony tumours, cysts etc)
Geographic tongue
Other causes of pigmentation (e.g., Addison’s disease, Peutz-Jeghers, Medications etc)
STIs (e.g., syphilis, gonorrhoea, HPV etc)
Herpes labialis examples (several would be good)
Infections (intra and extra-oral)
Lip lesions (e.g., exfoliative cheilitis, actinic cheilitis, angioedema etc)
Skin and eye lesions (SCC, BCC, melanoma, lichen planus, immunobullous disease, EM etc)
Neck lesions (Lymphadenopathy, cysts, thyroid goitre etc)
Peri implant disease (mucocitis, cementitis and periimplantitis)
Chemical burns
Throat trauma - sexual abuse/ safeguarding
OsteoRadioNecrosis
Medication-Related OsteoNecrosis of the Jaw (MRONJ)
Surgical/radiotherapy changes following SCC removal/treatment
Fibroepithelial Polyp
Mucoceles
Pyogenic Granuloma
Mineralising Fibrous Epulis
Haemangioma
Lichen planus/ Lichenoid reactions
Chronic hyperplastic candidiasis
Hyperkeratosis

Individuals who are invited to contribute dental images should provide consent in the usual manner of your institution, and you should provide confirmation of this at the point of submission.
