About the organisers

Alessandro Checco

Dr Alessandro Checco is a lecturer at the Information School, the University of Sheffield. He is the programme coordinator of the Horizon 2020 Public Private Partnership FashionBrain.

His main research interests are Information Retrieval, Data Privacy, Recommender Systems, Crowdsourcing, and Digital Labour.

Eddy Maddalena

Dr Eddy Maddalena is a research fellow at the University of Southampton. He has published research articles concerning the use of crowdsourcing to tackle issues concerning multiple fields, such as biology, information retrieval, new quality, natural language processing and generation, and mapping of 3D imagery environments. Eddy is currently the leader of WP3 for the H2020 project Qrowd, developing solutions which include paid or voluntary human participation to improve urban mobility and reduce traffic congestion.
