I am a University Teaching Associate in the School of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Sheffield. I would usually be based in room G36 of the Hicks Building, however I'm currently working remotely for the foreseeable future.
I joined the University of Sheffield in 2010 as an undergraduate, and continued with a PhD under the supervision of Prof Paul Blackwell. My PhD involved developing continuous-time statistical models for carrying out inference on animal movement data obtained by GPS telemetry.
I then spent 18 months as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the department of Animal and Plant Sciences, working with Dr Dylan Childs and Prof Paul Blackwell and funded by the Leverhulme Trust. This work involved applying ABC methodologies to a dynamic energy budget model for the Soay sheep population.
Further information on both these projects is given here.
Since 2019, I have been in a teaching-focused role in the School of Mathematics and Statistics, please see pages on my teaching.
