The mission of the SHCSC High Ability Program is to support and challenge all high ability students both academically and socially. Through student, family, and teacher support, SHCSC is working to increase understanding of high ability learners and support them to be successful in whatever they choose to do after graduation.
What is a High Ability learner? High Ability learners, formerly known as gifted and talented students, are learners who perform, or show the potential to perform, at an outstanding level of accomplishment in at least one area when compared to other students of the same age, experience, or environment. These students often are characterized by exceptional gifts, talents, motivation, or interests.
