We are so glad you're here! This website is designed with families in mind, as a user-friendly informational resource-hub for families of students with disabilities who receive special education services in Harrison County. Our goal is to partner with you as you advocate for your student.
ABOUT HARRISON COUNTY EXCEPTIONAL LEARNERS COOPERATIVE (HCELC)
HCELC serves all three school corporations in Harrison County, Indiana: Lanesville Community Schools, North Harrison Community Schools, and South Harrison Community Schools. The Cooperative was organized to support the schools in meeting their obligations to identify and provide appropriate educational services to students with disabilities as outlined in federal (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act) and Indiana (Article 7) laws. HCELC is also a resource for parents/guardians who may need help navigating the special education process.

Parents have rights protected under federal law and state regulations. Parents receive a copy of these rights as part of the Annual Case Review (ACR) process.
