As stated in Diocesan Policy #1360, it is the responsibility of the student to make up missed assignments. Students have the number of days missed plus one to make up and turn in missed work. Upon returning to school, the student is responsible for seeing the teacher(s) concerning missed class and home assignments. Students in the lower grades may require the assistance of their parents. Missed work not turned in by the student within the timeframe outlined above may result in zeros.
In the event a long-term assignment is due during a prearranged excused absence, the assignment must be turned in prior to the departure or grading penalties will result.
Additionally, teachers are unable to provide a comprehensive list of projected class and homework assignments in advance of actual classroom instruction (i.e. requested work for upcoming travel or pre-planned absences). Parents and/or guardians are ultimately responsible for providing make-up instruction for children when they are absent without excuse. Students are required to take any missed tests within two weeks of their return from an unexcused absence.
Following an absence, students in grades 6-8 must check RenWeb/FACTS and/or Google Classroom for tests administered during the absence.
Students are expected to coordinate with their teachers to schedule test make-ups.
