My name is Hanna Schmitt. I am a kindergarten teacher at the Bloomington campus. I am very excited about being your child's teacher!
I have my bachelor's degree in early childhood education and my master's degree in special education with an emphasis on Autism and Emotional Behavioral Disorders. I moved to Minnesota from Wisconsin. Before moving I worked in Madison as a Preschool/ 4 year old kindergarten teacher. I also worked as an instructional aide in a 5 year old kindergarten classroom in the Milwaukee area. I have been happily teaching kindergarten since moving to Minnesota! I am passionate about teaching and love seeing the joy school and learning brings each child.
Outside of school I spend a lot of time in the kitchen. I love to cook and bake. I also enjoy spending time outside. I garden, bike, hunt, fish, and camp when time allows. I enjoy watching a playing sports as well. I also stay active when not at school. I am a runner, biker and triathlete. I have completed many 5k, 10k, half marathons and triathlons.
I also love coffee and chocolate! I spend many hours at coffee shops reading a good book and just relaxing.
I look forward to a great year and cannot wait to get to know each student and their family!
