Samm Brown, "The Five Stages of Grief -- A Short Narrative Film"

The Five Stages of Grief is a short film that follows the death of fictional junior in college, Tessa Danvers. Tessa dies in a car accident caused by her decision to text while driving. Instead of passing on to an afterlife or peace after death, she has to stay behind and watch her loved ones grieve her death. The Five Stages of Grief covers issues and topics such as distracted driving, grief, suicide, and substance abuse.

Alyssa Miles, "Fully Alive"

Fully Alive is a short documentary created to ask the question: why? The mainstream American ideal of Individualism runs rampant in our society and people are left feeling empty inside. With a theoretical underpinning of Ignatian thought, the main goal of the film was to continue a conversation on vocation and work to see how the two can complement each other. To achieve this goal, I interviewed subjects who had a zeal about the work they do. To cover a broad range of vocations, I interviewed nine people in different ages and stages of their lives and careers. To create the film, I mostly functioned as a one woman team: writing, directing and editing. To promote the film, I used Facebook and Instagram. I screened Fully Alive on March 28th and will post it online on April 9th. At the screening I had a questionnaire link sent out to the viewers to respond. The majority of the feedback was positive; viewers felt informed and engaged about knowing who they are, whose they are, who they are called to be and what it means to be Fully Alive.

The final video product was shown at the groundbreaking ceremony for Flight Works Alabama, posted to their social media accounts for promotional purposes, and was also utilized by local and regional news outlets.

Riley Navarre, "Gun Violence Against Women"

Gun Violence Against Women is an informational video highlighting the specific issues that women face in regards to gun violence. Though women are certainly not the only group affected by the lack of firearm regulation, they are affected in a unique way. Domestic violence plays a large role in how women are affected by gun violence. Women are uniquely more likely to be injured or killed by someone they know, most likely a man they know. The consequences of domestic violence are far worsened when a firearm is present, and states lack the adequate laws to protect women. This video covers all of that and more as it presents the issues women face, why, and potential ways to confront how gun violence affects women.
