Welcome to Jr. High Social Studies!
I am Trey Pender, this will be my second year teaching! My goal for this school year is to introduce students to the importance of Social Studies. Whether I am teaching about History, Geography, Economics, Politics, or Anthropology, when the students leave my classroom I hope they see how interesting and important each aspect of Social Studies is to the world we live in. I'm always an email or phone call away if parents or students have any questions or concerns!
About me
I attended Southeast Missouri State University and obtained a Bachelors of Arts in Anthropology with a minor in History. After graduation I became a Special Education teacher's aide at Shawnee. After taking a year off from working in the education field, I realized teaching is what I was called to do so I received my teaching certification in Middle School Social Studies from a certification program over the summer of 2021. This will be my 4rd year teaching.
I am a huge sports fan. I currently coach high school volleyball, high school basketball, high school track, and jr. high volleyball here at Shawnee. I'm a huge Kentucky Wildcats, Chicago Cubs, Dallas Cowboys, and SEMO fan.
