Mrs. Heffner – Title I Coordinator & Intervention Specialist
I have dedicated over 30 years to the field of education, with a strong focus on classroom instruction and academic intervention. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Messiah College in 1992 and began my teaching career working with students in kindergarten through fifth grade.
In 1998, I joined the faculty at Schuylkill Haven Elementary School as a fourth grade teacher. My passion for literacy led me to pursue a Master’s degree in Reading from Kutztown University, which I completed in 2001, becoming a certified Reading Specialist. After many years in the classroom, I transitioned into the role of a Title I Reading and Math Intervention Teacher, where I provided targeted instructional support to students in need. Currently, I serve as the Title I Coordinator for the Schuylkill Haven Elementary Center, overseeing intervention programs and collaborating with staff to support student achievement.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Frank, our two children, Aaron and Abbie, and our dog, Molly. I also enjoy being outdoors, shopping, swimming in my pool, visiting Myrtle Beach, and have recently taken up pickleball.
I am passionate about teaching children how to read and find great joy in watching their growth and progress throughout the school year. Supporting students as they build confidence and develop a love for learning is one of the most rewarding parts of my work.
