Here's what to do next ..............
1. Purchase device. Be sure it meets the minimum specifications and consider a protective case, headphones, and insurance.
2. Ensure the device is able to be used at school
For Choromebooks please ensure parental controls including family link are NOT turned on as this makes it hard for your child to log in to their school google account which is needed for school use. They or other family members can log in to a personal account at home but at school, their school account must be used.
For iPads please ensure you have downloaded and installed the list of required apps. Ensure there are no parental restrictions on the device as this can prevent your child from adding their school google account to the device.
3. Print or obtain a copy of the BYOD Agreement, go over it with your child and both sign it.
4. Bring (or send with your child) the completed agreement and device to see your child's teacher who will:
Go over the agreement with your child.
Ensure they know where to store their device when not in use.
Organise for the device to be connected to the school wifi.
5. Discuss with your child as often as possible:
their learning
how they are keeping safe
how they are using their device
how they are meeting the signed agreement.
Any issues at all please bring these to the classroom teachers attention as soon as possible.
