I received both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Art Education from Kutztown University. I have also recently earned my certificate in Total Experience Learning from Albright College. I have been employed as an art educator, with the Wilson School District since 1992. My first few years of teaching art were spent in four different former elementary buildings within the district (Sinking Spring Elementary, Lower Heidelberg Elementary, Berkshire Heights Elementary, and Lincoln Park Elementary). I later transferred to Central Junior High (currently the Lower House H.S.), where I taught art to 7th, 8th, and 9th graders. After teaching in this building for approximately 15 years, I transferred to West Middle School, where I taught art to 6th, 7th, and 8th grade classes as well as the adapted art class. I am now continuing my bulldog journey at the High School Lower House, where I will be teaching the 9th grade Journey through Art course and Drawing and Painting 1 (10th-12th grade).
Beyond the classroom and my work as an artist, I stay busy with my family, which includes three adult sons and my husband, who runs our family car business in Spring City, PA. We all enjoy spending time outdoors, camping, visiting the shore points, boating on the bay or at Blue Marsh, jet skiing, and even going on cruises to the Carribean. I absolutely love animals of all kinds. I really enjoy taking care of our 2 cats and watching all the animals that live in our backyard. My main focus as an artist is drawing and painting. I especially enjoy painting pet portraits and any realistic rendering.
As an artist and educator, my greatest passion is sharing the joy of creativity with others and inspiring students to discover the artist within themselves. I encourage my students to take risks, embrace challenges, and see mistakes as valuable opportunities for growth. My goal is to provide a supportive environment where every student feels empowered to express themselves and develop their unique artistic voice.
