Here's a link to a clip of the author, Katherine Applegate, interviewing Ivan's keeper at The Atlanta Zoo.

We read (and loved) The One and Only Ivan. This book is a fictional piece about a gorilla who truly did live in a shopping mall for 27 years before being given the gift of a life among other gorillas, cared for by people who knew what gorillas need. The Atlanta Zoo became his home until he passed away in 2012 at the age of 50. This link will take you to a page on the Atlanta Zoo website where you can learn more about this amazing silverback gorilla. There is a slide show at the bottom of the page as well. Enjoy!

Our learners have the opportunity about once a week to practice their keyboarding skills on their Chromebook. Here are a couple of the sites we use for that practice.

Front Row Math gives our learners wonderful math practice, with terrific tools available for their thinking. Use the class code ef3bct in the log-in.

KenKen puzzles challenge our thinking and logic....Great fun!

This is a fantastic resource for teachers and families to support our learners in their reading and writing.
