Hello! I'm Shirley Sites, 2nd Grade Teacher at Whitfield Elementary. I've been a teacher in the Wilson School District since 1982. Over the course of my career I've been an Instructional Support Teacher, a 3rd Grade Teacher and a 2nd Grade Teacher. I feel honored to be a part of your child's education! Prior to my start at Wilson I was a graduate of Governor Mifflin High School and Shippensburg (State College) University. I actually completed part of my student teaching right here at Whitfield! My other student teaching assignment was completed at Nolde Forest Environmental Education Center to fulfill the requirements of my minor in Environmental Education. With the exception of a half year teaching 2nd Grade at our former West Wyomissing building and a full year in 2nd Grade at our former Lincoln Park building my career has been spent at Whitfield. I've enjoyed watching the building grow and change over the years. I've loved seeing families course through our building with some to return with the next generation of learners!

Outside of school I enjoy playing handball and golf with my husband and friends. We love camping and exploring in our State and National Parks. Road trips are my favorite things, especially when it means we get to travel to see our children in Indiana and Oregon! We are entertained at home by our two dogs, 12 year old Max and our 6 month old puppy Hank. There's never a dull moment when there's a puppy around. :)
