Summer Resources
Summer time is a great time to relax and unwind after a school year. However, maintaining the level of ability your student has gained requires them to continue to practice over the summer. There are many resources that you can utilize to help your child maintain their musical ability. Luckily, most of them are free! Please check out the resources listed below and consider using one or all of them to keep the music alive in your household!
Berks Summer Band Institute is a multi-generational summer band program for Berks County band musicians. This free program encourages students to continue to practice over the summer while meeting new friends from across the county.
There are four bands of varying levels for musicians of all ages, including a 1st year band, 2nd year band, middle school band, and high school / adult band.

Berks Summer String Institute
The Berks Summer Strings Institute exists to provide an opportunity for students in Berks County Pennsylvania to continue playing and learning about their orchestral string instrument over the summer. This free program allows students to continue to grow musically and meet new friends.
There are three levels of playing available to join from 1st year students all the way through high school.

Private Lessons
Private lessons are a great way to provide the one on one and focused attention your student may not receive in school lessons. Whether it is to challenge your child or support your child's musical growth, please consider at least contacting a teacher for more information!
Practice Pages
Practice does not always need to be on the instrument. I've included links to worksheets, flash cards, and music selections in your child's book for them to continue to practice over the summer as well!
