School Counseling Services
School counseling services are provided to the students of Shiloh Hills Elementary on a confidential basis. Counseling takes place individually and in small groups. These sessions are designed to assist children in developing appropriate coping strategies for working out problems and concerns. Counseling referrals can be made by any school staff, parents, and through self-referrals by the students.
Individual Counseling
Children meet with the counselor on an as needed basis. All students have the option of requesting to meet with the counselor to talk about any school, family, or emotional concern they feel may be impacting them. Teachers, parents, and school staff can also request that the counselor meet with children.
Small Group Counseling
Groups of 3-8 children meet on an as needed basis. The small groups will have students who may be dealing with similar concerns or problems. The length of the sessions will vary with each group. Small groups provide a safe, confidential place for children to share experiences and feelings.
