At a glance...

11th-grade English covers American literature and the research process. We read three texts together as a whole class (The Crucible, the graphic novel version of The Great Gatsby, and The Things They Carried). We also cover critical media literacy, focusing on nonfiction texts, bias, and rhetoric. Our culminating unit, Voices in America, focuses on perspective building through texts that act as windows into others' experiences.
