Hello! My name is Molly Hodnik. Although I have been teaching at Whitfield Elementary for four years, this is my first year teaching kindergarten. I am excited to begin my new role and feel lucky to continue my professional career at Whitfield Elementary (Go Bulldogs!) I graduated from Millersville University with a degree in Elementary and Special Education. While attending the University I was fortunate to have many learning experiences inside and outside of the classroom. One of the most influential experiences I had was being placed in a school for students with special needs in Belfast, Northern Ireland. I am continuing my educational studies as a pursue my Master's Degree in Assistive Technology through Widener University.
Let me tell you a little more about myself. I grew up in the Wyomissing School District, where from a very young age I knew I wanted to become a teacher. I was active in sports such as field hockey, soccer, and club lacrosse. I spent many summers working at the Wyomissing Hills playground. When I am not teaching and working in the classroom, I am often with my dog, Lucy. We enjoy walking at Blue Marsh and the Wyomissing Park System. Sometimes, Lucy even helps me in my classroom. I also love to bake and try new recipes. My family and friends always ask me to make my Espresso Chocolate Chip Cookies.
