In this unit, we will be exploring the Northeast region, more specifically focusing in on Pennsylvania. We will be exploring landforms, the states that border PA, the 5 regions of PA, resources found in PA, and the climate of PA.

The United States is split into five main regions. We live in the Northeast region.
One unique thing about this region is that we experience all four true seasons. We get the hot summers, cold winters, and the in betweens of fall and spring.

This is the coldest region. It has cold snowy winters. It is home to one of the Great Lakes - Lake Erie. It is also a port city!
This is our largest region! It takes up over half the state. You can also find Pittsburgh and the Ohio River here.
This region is known for its mining. There are a lot of caves here and it is abundant in coal.
This region is where we live! It has the richest soil, which makes it great for farming. We have a lot of farms and produce a lot of crops. There is a large Amish population in this region.
This is the warmest region. It has the warmest summers. This is also where you can find Philadelphia and the Delaware River. Thanks to the Delaware River, this is also a port city!
