A mathematical mindset is a skill that can be used in your day to day life and applied in the
arts. This elective class is an opportunity for students to see math in a different light and
experience more success in understanding its applications. Students will be using knowledge
from Geometry and Algebra 1 to complete various tasks ranging from creating artwork to real
world abstract thinking.Topics of study include: Origami - 2D Design - History of
Mathematicians - Tessellations - 3D Design
Logic and mathematics behind various board games
Construct a kite that can fly
Business/Consumer calculations
Create a 3D sculpture using limited materials
Display mathematical concepts artistically
Calculated decision making
Environmental impact
Justify mathematical reasoning
