Title I is a federally funded literacy program that provides reading assistance to children needing extra support. Instruction is delivered by the Reading Specialists. Students are instructed using a small group or 1:1 instruction. Guided reading, skill and strategy work, word work, and writing may be done in these groups.
Children in grades K- 3 are selected to be in the Title I reading program based upon objective criteria that varies by grade level. Other assessments may also be administered dependent upon what needs the child may display.
