Computer Science

All Discovery students (K-5) participate in a computer science (CS) unit each year. This unit corresponds with Computer Science Education Week and our building-wide Hour of Code event. If students enjoy programming, they may continue to develop their coding skills by choosing a Computer Science project during our Makerspace time. Students may also continue to discover their love for coding at home. Check out some of the coding apps and websites below. Coding for KidsTynker makes it fun and easy to learn computer programming. Get started today with Tynker's easy-to-learn, visual programming course designed for young learners in 4th through 8th grades.

Code Monster from CrunchzillaCode Monster gets kids excited about programming. It is a combination of a game and tutorial where kids experiment with learning to code.
