School Counselors meet with children individually to support them through life changes or difficult situations, and to guide them toward positive change. At one time or another, any child may need a little extra support or guidance. Through individual guidance counseling, children are given a safe space to be open about their feelings and circumstances; the first step toward healing and moving forward in a healthy way. Children are also taught skills to help them in their current situation - skills they can use throughout their lives.

Please consider me a resource - someone to contact when you're not sure what to do or who to talk to.
We can communicate through email, Dojo, over the phone or on a virtual meeting - during the school year and summer, too!
Throughout the year, school counselors and our social worker facilitate many groups, focusing on the needs presenting themselves at the time. Children learn from and support one another as they learn and practice new skills. Children generally enjoy being in small groups as they demonstrate individual growth through each other's support. If you are interested in your child/children participating in a group, please contact us!
Classroom Guidance
Lessons
During the school year School Counselors visit each classroom throughout the school year. School Counselors create lessons to support students and teachers. Topics include: Organization, listening skills, managing our emotions, career exploration, and other character education topics, such as respect. School Counselors teach or co-teach the lesson, often leaving follow up materials and resources for teachers and students.
