This course is a state tested Keystone course. The Keystones are typically at the end of May. Throughout this course we learn about how living things do the characteristics of life. Some of our topics are the following:
Ecosystems and interconnectedness of organisms/ Population change
Structures of life (systems, special cells, cells organelles, macromolecules)
Homeostasis and cell transport (maintain equilibrium through passive or active transport)
Energy for Life (Food webs, energy pyramids, Photosynthesis & Respiration)
Growth & development (Controlled growth/ healing or uncontrolled growth in cancer)
Genetics (DNA and influence on traits through inheritance or gene expression)
Evolution (Populations changes over time through mutation & natural selection)
