The Riverbend Centurion Classic was nominated for a 2019 Community Enrichment Award at the annual Association of Fundraising Professionals luncheon for its continued work to support the Canadian Cancer Society.
Mr Holt and Leo Mangano accepted on behalf of Riverbend Junior High School. Mr. Holt founded the Centurion Classic in 2010 and has organized it every year since. Shortly after the inaugral 2010 Centurion Classic, we started using the event as a vehicle for raising awareness around cancer and as a specific fundraiser for Breast Cancer. Leo Mangano has been generously donating pink shoelaces for a decade for all players and coaches, and helped with the pink/yellow whistle initiative for the officials. Once again, he has donated enough pinkshoelaces for approx 450 players and coaches to wear for the 2025 Centurion Classic!!
The legacy of the Centurion Classic continues to grow!!
