We are reworking the aging choral library at Satellite and are in the process of removing titles that we do not have enough legal copies of to perform with our ensembles. Each piece of music for a typical sized class averages around $100. At any point, we typically have 4-6 pieces of music per ensemble in folders for rehearsal. It is vital to the health of the organization to continue to replenish music with a music budget around $2,500 per year.
Smaller in-state travel (single over-night) with performance is being explored for spring 2026. This year's chorus travel will be open to any interested chorus students (and not just the advanced choirs). We are considering music festivals related to theme parks in Florida.
Being digital, the instrument listed above comes with many additional advantages for a school: recording quality, “player piano” recording for rehearsals, library of other sounds, Bluetooth connectivity for auditionees and performers, little to no maintenance, etc. I was lucky enough to be able to outfit my last school with two of these instruments (an eariler model GP-609), and they are cherished there and are well-suited for the daily usage, climate shifts of a school room, and manufactured with durability in mind. The price may be shocking to you, but the technology allows for the sonic effect of an acoustic worth $80K and more.
