2026 Audition Materials

• Women’s Ensemble & Men’s Ensemble

  • Congratulations!  No audition necessary

• Theater Applicants:

  • Incoming freshmen - Theater 1: no audition necessary

• American Musical Theatre, Advanced Chorus, & SAFA Applicants

• Vocal auditions will be scheduled together.  Depending on the courses you are auditioning for, different requirements apply. 

  •  Audition week: May 12-16

  •  Vocal auditions during school for current SHS Students 

  • For non-current SHS students only - Afterschool auditions by appointment May 14-15, 2025 (see link below to book)

• AMT Applicants:

  • 16-32 measures of a song from a musical (bring track or sheet music – no a capella)

  • Dance Workshop 5/12 (afterschool for Hoover, DeLaura, SAFA Applicants)

  •  Dance Audition on 5/16 (afterschool for Hoover, DeLaura and SAFA Applicants)

• Chorus Music Applicants:

  • Prepared Vocal Material ("Gloria")

  • Brief sightreading evaluation (required for non-open enrollment classes) (FVA Examples)

    • Exercise 1: 8 measures using All-State HS Level 1 criteria

    • Exercise 2: 4 measures using All-State HS Level 2 criteria

  • Ten Tones auditions – additional 16-32 measures of a song from commercial music (bring track or sheet music).  For those also auditioning for AMT, their song from a musical replaces this requirement.

  • Prepared Vocal Materials:

    • Returning and Incoming Freshmen: “Gloria”
