What happens in the HELM Program?

At Rockledge High School we are extremely fortunate to have the full support of The Propeller Club of Port Canaveral as we continue to expand our unique program. The Propeller Club provides us with expert speakers, field trip opportunities and funds to expand our program activities!

Students in the HELM Program can expect to:

-Take field trips (at least 3 per year)

- Hear from industry-expert guest speakers

- Identify & plan for possible Maritime-related careers

- Learn practical Maritime skills (including but not limited to... Knot Tying, Line Handling, Safety Procedures, Electronic Systems, Navigation, Maritime Rules & Laws and Port Operations)

-Take & pass the Certifed Logistics Technician (CLT) Exam

- Get safety & first-aid training

- Learn team work & creative problem-solving skills

- Have fun!
