After Effects is a tool that’s used to create animation and motion graphics effects. Unlike Adobe Premiere Pro, which is more focused on video editing, After Effects is designed to help create all the cool extras that make your motion graphics shine. It’s used by a variety of creative professionals for film, TV, and video for websites and social media.
First video using After Effects, it's similar to Premiere Pro with more effects for us to use while editing. I liked using the mirror effect on the forest background as it blurs out.
For this video we used an image of a car then added in shapes over the headlights, changing the mode to overlay and adjusting the color along with another effect to make it seem like the cars lights were turning on. We added keyframes for the blinking effect, then we added in text with animation for it as well.
Using what we learned making the last video with the blinking car lights we had to make our own, so I did it as a house that's haunted and all the lights are flickering. I made sure to add another layer of the effect and change to opacity so that the 2 lights on the left extend down more at a lighter color.
After watching the videos we had to make our own promotional video using what we learned, I did one for the football team.
Following along with the video we made the logo spin and change the color of the background, I added what we learned in the previous lesson to add a bounce at the end.
We learned how to animate the ball like its being thrown on the beach, added my name with an effect to come in.
Using what we learned in our Mount Baker lesson we made our own video, having to pick what to do it on and what object to move in the background.
