What is AICE? (Advanced International Certificate of Education)
An international, pre-university program developed by the University of Cambridge in England
Examinations have been offered for over 50 years in more than 160 countries
AICE was first offered in the US in 1995, officially adopted by Florida in 2001
AICE Diploma is based on a show of competence in seven subject areas
Curriculum was designed as preparation for college and university programs
Benefits of AICE?

An AICE diploma plus the required volunteer hours qualify students for the Florida Academic Scholar Award (Bright Futures Scholarship)
Passing the AICE exam earning college credit
Exposure to different methods of assessments with emphasis on higher order thinking and writing
Ability to direct student’s educational interests
Ability to compete for admission to the most elite colleges & universities
What about the Curriculum?
AICE students interested in earning the AICE Diploma must achieve a total of seven points earning one from each of the three required subject groupings and pass the core assessment (Cambridge International AS Level Global Perspectives).* The three additional points may be earned in any of the categories.
Group 1(1 point required): Mathematics & Sciences – Biology, Physics, Environmental Management, Marine Science, Mathematics - Statistics, Psychology
Group 2 (1 point required): Languages - English Language, Spanish Language
Group 3 (1 point required): Arts & Humanities –Art & Design - Photography, English Literature, US History, Psychology, Environmental Management, Music, Media Studies, Drama,
Group 4 : Interdisciplinary Studies (OPTIONAL CATEGORY WITH 2 TOTAL POINTS PERMITTED) – Thinking Skills, English General Paper, Global Independent Research Report

Testing for 2025 will begin on April 25 and run until June 5th.

AICE Testing Entries have gone out to students for the June testing series. The entry tells the students the date and AM or PM for each exam he or she will be taking.
Students who earn the Cambridge Advanced Certificate of Education (AICE) Diploma qualify for the highest level of the Bright Futures Scholarship. The Florida Academic Scholar Award gives students full tuition coverage at a Florida public university. Students who earn the AICE Diploma do not need to meet the SAT/ACT or GPA requirements but they do need to meet the community service requirement of completing 100 service hours.
