Mr. Brian Rorer received his Master’s Degree in Choral Music Education from Belmont University, under the direction of Dr. Jeffery Ames. His culminating paper at Belmont University focused on the developing ensemble: Selected Quality Literature That Builds Musicianship and Strengthens Musical Independence for the Developing Choir. This thesis explores thirteen separate pieces of literature that can be used to strengthen a developing choir. Whether one has a male or female exclusive ensemble, and/or a mixed voice ensemble, he identifies the individual needs each ensemble requires to become musically independent and literate.
Mr. Rorer is originally from Syracuse, NY and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from Syracuse University. This program is a dual major in Music as well as Education. He has extensive experience in multiple school districts, and has instructed students beginning their elementary education to students concluding their high school careers. He loves introducing young students to the realm of music, hoping to help them academically and enrich their educational experience.
In his free time Mr. Rorer enjoys traveling the world. Most recently, he completed a 40-day backpack trip around Europe where he visited 14 different cities in 12 different countries! He looks forward to continuing to share his love for music and travel with his students this year. Go Eagles!
