Members of the Central Middle School Choirs have opportunities to participate in many ensembles. Please check below for information about our extracurricular ensembles. Opportunities to move on to an advanced ensemble is based on classroom behavior throughout the year and a formal audition.
This course is a year-long class. This class is a non-auditioned male choir that is open to any 7th or 8th grade male. We will be focusing on fundamental vocal technique, theory, and aural skills. We will always be working on developing the high voice (falsetto) and taking that down into the lower range.
The Eagle Singers is a group of the most dedicated, hard-working students in the CMS Choirs. This choir has enormous responsibility, especially being leaders for the entire chorus. We will study advanced technique, theory, and aural skills. This ensemble will also have more performance opportunities in the community and around the school.
Who can join? Dedicated 7th and 8th graders who are accepted based on their audition with Mr. Rorer – Auditions take place in the spring of the previous year.
What are the requirements? Students need to maintain a 70 grade point average throughout the academic year. Students who do not meet this requirement will be dealt with on an individual basis.
This course is a year-long class comprised of three sections. The ensemble is open to any 7th and 8th grade woman who has had little to no chorus experience. There is no audition required. We will be learning the fundamentals of vocal technique, theory, and aural skills and picking repertoire to reinforce these concepts.
This course is a year-long class. The intermediate women’s ensemble is comprised of 7th and 8th grade women who have at least one year of choral experience. We will be focusing on more advanced vocal technique, theory, and aural skills with a focus on a Capella music.
Who can join? 7th and 8th graders who are accepted based on their audition with Mr. Rorer – Auditions take place in the spring of the previous year. Students must have music reading experience.
