Andersen Media Center Mission Statement
The Andersen Media Center encourages our students to SOAR
by inspiring a love of reading and fostering critical thinking, innovation and creativity.
Students at Andersen visit the Media Center once a week during their scheduled activity time. It is during that time that students choose and check out their books as well as participate in a variety of activities that focus on information skills, literacy development, and creativity. Don't come in during this time expecting a quiet library - there is too much energy in the room to be silent!
Ms. Hoffman has been a Media Specialist with Brevard County Schools for 35 years, and has had the blessing of being a part of the Andersen community for 25 of them. She is the proud momma to one daughter, Heather, and the joyous Grammy to two grandsons, Teddy and Sawyer. She loves to read, quilt, cross-stitch, and garden in her spare time (even though she's not that great at the last one). She has been the president of the local association for media specialists, BAME (Brevard Association for Media in Education), for the last three years and enjoys being a support to others in the field. Fun fact - she attended Andersen when it first opened as a fourth grade student!
Oh how things have changed!
