About Our Library

Our School Library Media Center is the hub of our school. Our collection includes over 15000 print items and 300 electronic books. The IMMS Library also subscribes to several research databases,, which can be used anywhere that students have internet access.

The library serves about 450 students. Teachers sign up to bring their classes to the library to collaborate on research related lessons with the school librarian. Students may also sign up to come to the library during their recess period for OMC (Open Media Center Time) Each grade also attends a weekly information literacy class in either the library or computer lab during the first and second semester or third and fourth semester. Students learn library use, research skills, 21st century technologies, and STEM/Engineering Skills during their course.

In 2017, our library was awarded a grant through the Shamong Education Foundation to start a Makerspace. A Makerspace is an area where people come together to create and design new things. Items that are housed in a Makerspace can include high tech items such as robots and 3D printers and low-tech/no-tech items such as craft supplies, cardboard, straws, etc. The IMMS Library will receive 2 sets of robots, a 3D printer, IPads, K'nex, Legos, Little Bits sets, Snap Circuits sets, and 3 Raspberry Pis.
