WE'VE GOT YOU- 360 - MORE THAN A PLEDGE. MAKE THE COMMITMENT HERE TODAY!

We have all been at a point in our lives where we just need a helping hand to get out of the rut we are in. This is Shadow Vet's bread and butter. With such a high concentration of veterans of all ages, disabilities, incomes, and time restraints, we are here to continue to serve after military service is complete. While in the service we've commonly heard, "I've got your 6." Now we've got you - 360. Our pledge & Our commitment is to take care of our own (Curam Nostro).

We are currently connected to 100+ providers in the Charlotte, N.C. area, but can provide referrals for any Veteran across N.C., and to other states utilizing the America Serves Network

  • We help Veterans navigate and connect with resource providers in their area.

    • We also conduct direct support operations: Do you know of a project that will help a Veteran? Submit a proposal request today! We organize and execute operations for Veterans on the home front!

    • Have a situation that is challenging to navigate alone? Contact us and we can help you connect with organizations and individuals who might be able to help - Whether you're new to an area, or need assistance with multiple challenges, we can help you get connected.

    • We connect Veterans to many nonprofit organizations - for FREE

    • Most projects are coordinated and executed using volunteers and donated resources - Veterans may be asked to supply or purchase materials when donated goods are not available.

    • We also help other non-profits and community organizations with projects (some fees may apply, primarily for materials)

SAVE A PET / SAVE A VET - A COMPLEX HOUSING AND SUICIDE PREVENTION SOLUTION

OK, so we all know that there are homeless veterans out there, and we also know that there is a ridiculous number of suicides among veterans. There are over 884 homeless veterans in North Carolina, and over 120 of those are right here in Mecklenburg county. With suicide rates at 29.1 per 100k in North Carolina we are well above the National rate of 18.1 per 100k. This is a REALLY SERIOUS ISSUE!! Now. The question is...why? Why are there so many suicides among veterans? Well, there are ton of reasons, and there is no single answer or solution. We've spent countless hours researching this and looking at ways of mitigating these issues, and what did we find? It typically happens when everything falls apart drastically, and no one bothers to pick our nation's heroes up and bring them back to where they belong...HOME.

So, for those that have had a pet, currently have a pet, or go to visit those with pets frequently, you will know that pets are part of the family. They provide us with companionship, comfort, security, and help with menial chores. People who have suffered with depression, PTSD, anxiety, and even bi-polar disorder, know that pets absolutely make a difference in our everyday lives. It isn't just a pet, it's a member of the family, even it is just owner and pet. That said, there are many veterans that are homeless because they refuse to give up their pet, and for good reason. That pet is their only reason for living in some cases.

Issue 1: There are no emergency housing solutions for veterans with pets.

Issue 2: Veterans are being refused housing, even with a voucher from INLIVIAN (former Charlotte Housing Authority), mainly because of credit checks, which...does that even make sense when you have a government voucher that will pay for housing?

Issue 3: Veteran services are available throughout the Charlotte Metro area, however, getting to these services is challenging to say the least if you aren't near public transit. Impossible if you are in a remote area.

Issue 4: There is a huge shortage of service dogs, not just for Veterans, but for everyone.

Solution: Build a self-sufficient Veteran community, designed by yours truly (Ghost), of small homes and support buildings that will provide veterans with all of the support services they need to go from zero to self-sustaining.
