Board Game Bonanza - Grades 3 through 5

Discover the timeless joy of board games in this summer enrichment course open to students entering grades 3 through 5! In today's tech-driven world, board gaming has taken a back seat, yet the benefits it offers are immeasurable. By engaging in board games, students will sharpen essential life skills such as strategy, social interaction, and problem-solving. In this electronics-free zone, participants will collaborate with peers and teachers, immersing themselves in a world of fun and learning.

This program will include two half days in the building that will be led by faculty and staff engaging in a variety of activities to help students entering grades 6 and 7 manage and identify anxieties, maintain relationships, establish connections and build community. Our goals are to increase student engagement, attendance, resilience and social connections. We want to help students establish and maintain emotional regulation skills, as well as familiarize them with supports in the building.

Future Exploration Program - Grades 9 through 12
Join us as we explore the Burlington, VT area colleges and universities. This program is open to all students entering grades 9 through 12. Students will have the opportunity to explore college campuses and become familiar with what to expect during visits and tours, as well as how to utilize the High School Guidance & Counseling Department as a resource for post-secondary planning.

Mindfulness and Self-Awareness for Teens
Teacher: Mr. St. Louis
Format: Students entering grades 7 through 12 who are interested in discovering the benefits of mindfulness activities like breathing exercises and meditation should consider joining this summer program! Together we’ll also dive into ancient movement arts like Qigong and Tai Chi. Each one-hour session will be a standalone lesson on self-awareness and mindfulness, so join up for an exciting journey of learning new, healthy practices with like-minded people.
