If students want to get their schedule changed then they need to go to the office and talk to the principals. Because if you wait too long you won’t be able to get the schedule changed. But make the changes are reasonable.
The seventh graders before you go into the eighth grade you have to get vaccines which is basically just shots. You do need these shots or you will not be able to go into the eighth grade. Please get these shots before August so your health records are up to date!
The SGMS band concert will be on December 15 at the PAC. It starts at 3:00 pm to around 4:30. The 6th grade beginning band will be playing along with the 7th and 8th grade band and Jazz band. Band students must be at the PAC no later than 2:40 and be sure to wear their band shirt, dark jeans, dark socks, and dark shoes.
The SGMS Choir concert is on December 10th at 7PM but doors open at 6:15 in the PAC. Beginning and Advanced choir groups are singing. Six grade needs to wear black or khaki pants with nice shoes and a white, festive, Christmas sweater. Advanced needs to wear black or khaki pants and there choir polo. Enjoy the concert!

Parents and students, the end of the first semester is near, to be exact on the 20th of December. Students are expected to turn in their absent notes before the due date or face the consequence of a grade reduction. Also, on the 20th of December, will be the end of the semester so parents, expect semester grade reports.
Just a reminder to students you are not allowed to be wearing headphones without a teacher’s permission. If you are wearing headphones in the hallway any teacher can take them away or tell you to take them off. You must listen. Also, if it becomes a problem then the student will be written up.
Eighth graders are starting to work on their history fair projects. The judges come and judge on February 10th-February 14th (if snow days, will move back to February 18th-21st). It is due on February 10th. The date we go to SEMO Regional and that date is March 24th. The history fair is only for 8th graders and only 8th graders are allowed to compete. National History Day (NHD) Fair with projects in the website, performance, exhibit, paper, and documentary categories with a variety of topics due to the topic of "Breaking Barriers in History".
Track conditioning started on December 2nd. The conditioning goes from 3:15 until 4:30. After school students meet in the lobby outside of the high school gym. Conditioning location varies on the day. Sometimes it will be in the weight room or outside on the track.
The Track season starts at the beginning of March. We are not sure on the exact date yet. Track practice will be after school to 5:00. If you have any questions contact Coach Samples or Coach Keim.

The play is Wednesday, December 11th at 7:30pm. The name of the play is “Winter Shorts.” This play will not have a main character but will consist of 11 different short plays about Christmas. The play will be fun to watch and at the play, you could sing along with the show if you please.
