at St George College
Year 9 is the start of the Senior School. While students in Years 9 and 10 must study compulsory subjects as prescribed by the Australian Curriculum, they are also offered electives to enable them to explore their interests. This will ultimately help them to make informed decisions when selecting SACE subjects in Years 11 and 12.
All students in Year 9 will study the following compulsory subjects:
To provide for interests and passions, students will also select electives as part of their curriculum. Each of the electives is a semester course and students must select one elective per semester. Students may choose to study the same elective in the two semesters as the courses are different.
Note: Elective choices may be altered due to small class sizes or other timetable constraints.
Students should discuss the options with their parents in finalising their final suite of subjects. Families may also seek support from the Head of House or subject teachers in making decisions regarding subject choices.
