Students in grades K-11th will take the NWEA two times per year. This test is required to be part of our Atlas Online Learning Program. The NWEA is taken in a virtual meet on their Chromebook.
The NWEA test, officially the NWEA MAP® Growth™ assessment, is a computerized, adaptive test used by K-12 schools to measure student achievement and growth in math, reading, language usage, and sometimes science. The test is taken several times a year, providing educators with actionable data to understand student performance, tailor instruction, and track progress over time. Results are available quickly and provide a score known as a RIT score, which indicates a student's current learning level and helps to inform teaching strategies.

Informs Instruction: Teachers use the detailed results to identify areas where students are excelling or struggling, allowing them to adjust their teaching methods.
Tracks Progress: Schools use the tests to monitor academic growth throughout the year, demonstrating student progress to authorize districts.
Identifies Learning Gaps: The adaptive nature of the test can accurately measure a student's performance, even if they are significantly above or below grade level.
