Anime club is a weekly after school club where students watch anime shows, play anime games and learn about Japanese culture.
Chess Club is open to all students, whether you are a complete beginner or an experienced player. Members will have the opportunity to learn the game, improve their strategies, compete against classmates, and participate in tournaments throughout the year. The club provides a fun, welcoming environment where students can develop critical thinking, problem-solving, concentration, and sportsmanship skills while enjoying friendly competition. Crochet Club is a weekly after-school activity dedicated to learning the process of crocheting, which is utilizing a hook & yarn to interlocock woven stitches. No experience is needed & supplies are provided. Students can throughout the year if there are any scheduling conflicts.
Dance club is an after-school experience where students learn and practice multiple forms of dance, such as contemporary, jazz, and hip-hop. No dance experience is required!
Anderson Drama Club offers students opportunities to explore all aspects of theatre, both onstage and behind the scenes. Students can participate in acting, singing, and dancing, or get involved with technical theatre through set construction, stage management, stage crew, lighting, sound operation, costumes, and more. Each year, Anderson Drama Club produces one full-length play in the fall and one full-length musical in the spring. We strive to create an inclusive and welcoming community where students can develop new skills, build confidence, make lasting friendships, and experience the excitement of live theatre!
In Dungeons & Dragons club, high school students tell a collective story, guiding heroes through dangerous quests to search for treasure, battle deadly foes, and even carry out daring rescues. The adventure itself is only limited by the imagination of the players around the table!
Esports is a competitive school activity where students represent our school by playing approved video games against other schools. Team members practice, compete, and build skills in communication, teamwork, strategy, leadership, and sportsmanship. Students who meet program expectations and participation requirements may also have the opportunity to earn a varsity letter.

The Southgate Anderson Marching Band is a performance ensemble that combines music, movement, and visual performance while supporting school spirit at football games, parades, and competitions. Southgate Anderson Robotics club (Team 2620) challenges students to build life skills while engineering competition robots year-round. We spend three months designing, programming, and testing an industrial-sized robot to compete against other schools in high-energy tournaments. Beyond engineering, our business and media teams handle community outreach, event planning, and digital media, ensuring that anyone can find a place on the team.
Southgate Winter Percussion is an indoor percussion ensemble that combines drumming, movement, and visual performance into a competitive production. Students develop advanced musical, technical, and collaborative skills while performing for audiences throughout the winter season.
The Southgate Winter Guard program is made up of multiple indoor performance groups that blend dance, choreography, equipment work (flags, rifles, and sabres), and theatrical storytelling. Students build confidence, creativity, and teamwork while performing in regional and national competitions.
